Renouncement
The idea of renunciation is present in many great
religions and spiritual paths. Cafh gives a special
definition to this idea.
According to the teachings of Cafh, a spirit of renouncement
is indispensable in the work of spiritual unfolding.
The spirit of renouncement allows us to have a dynamic
relationship with life, to discern the possibilities
we have before us, and to avoid becoming attached to
previous experiences.
Life is continuous change. Everything is constantly
evolving - nothing in nature, in human life or in the
entire universe escapes this law. Because of our human
nature, it can be hard for us to accept change and
we take refuge in what once gave us security, without
opening ourselves to the becoming of life.
Yet renouncement does not always refer to the “giving
up” of something, but rather it refers to the
attitude with which we face life’s challenges.
When we renounce voluntarily and consciously, we learn
to discern what we can change and what we need to accept.
In this way we are free to love and to participate
constructively in life and its circumstances. This
attitude of renouncement renews and expands our relationship
with life and death and with the divine.
