What role does the individual
play in his or her own unfolding and the unfolding of
society?
Cafh recognizes and values the part that society plays
in the education, protection and support of its members.
However, society is not an abstraction and doesn’t
have a life of its own; rather, it is a body formed
by all the human beings which make it up. For this reason,
we can’t expect more from society than what each
of us contributes to it.
Cafh considers that peace and happiness don’t
come from outside ourselves—governments, institutions,
ideologies, beliefs—but from each one of us, from
our capacity to understand ourselves and our will to
unfold. To the extent that we unfold ourselves and expand
our consciousness, we find peace within ourselves and
generate peace in the world.
The role of the individual is essential and determines
what society can do for each one of its members. The
more education, heritage, health and well-being an individual
receives, the more responsibility he or she has to collaborate
with society in promoting the well-being of those who
receive less.
